This course will introduce you to the mysore style class, the traditional, individualized method that characterizes Ashtanga yoga. This is a 2 week, 4 days a week course that will provide you with the tools and support you need to begin the practice of Ashtanga yoga. By learning one posture at a time, you’ll naturally memorize a section of the sequence of postures that make up the introductory or primary series. As you become skilled in performing a posture, you’ll be taught the next posture in the sequence. Gradually, through concentration and repetition you will learn the asanas and transitions that make up Ashtanga's Primary (first) series. Regularly attending in this setting allows you to develop your personal practice and and work regularly with one teacher, creating a sustainable foundation for you rely on or build upon. You'll be prepared to join in the ongoing Mysore program at AYP. Class is limited to five students.
